  1. refrigerator double doorFirstly, check if the power cord is plugged in properly. Sometimes it may be necessary to move the refrigerator and push the plug further in the outlet. Check if the cord itself is intact, that there are no exposed wires or cuts on it. If this is the case we would advise you to call a professional and do not try to fix the refrigerator on your own.
  2. You may want to do the same with the extension cord between the refrigerator and the outlet in case you have one. In case the cord is damaged, you can easily replace it on your own.
  3. You may check if other appliances work with the same outlet or another one nearby. Check the fuse or the circuit breakers in case they do not work – you may have blown fuses or a tripped breakers.
  4. Call a professional to test the current and the voltage.

The lights are on, but the refrigerator doesn’t run

  1. You may want to check what temperature the refrigerator is set to. You may have accidentally turned it to a warmer setting, so the refrigerator is not turning on.
  2. There should be a gap of at least 3 inches between the refrigerator and the walls. This gap allows for proper airflow required for the refrigerator to function well.
  3. It may be necessary to brush or vacuum the condenser coils if they are dusty. Please make sure to turn it off first.
  4. Try unplugging the refrigerator for around 2 hours and then plug it back. In case this seem to help it means that you have a problem with the compressor – most likely it overheats and you should call a technician to have a look at it.
  5. Test the following parts of the refrigerator for conductivity: temperature controls, evaporator fan, defrost timer, compressor and overload protector. You can check the user manual if you have troubles finding them.
