Washer Maintenance Tips

The washing machine like other appliances in your household requires proper care and keeping of service rules. If you would like to operate your washing machine for many years, you should follow some basic maintenance tips.

In the most of the cases, the washing machine breaks down because of proper maintenance or cleanliness lack. In case the washing machine has the minimum maintenance during the operation period, it will increase its life span at least in two times.

The average washing machine is designed to operate from 7 to 10 years. Firstly, you should read the instruction manual attached to the appliance carefully.

5 basic external maintenance tips for your washing machine:

  • Correct installation. The appliance should stand on the flat horizontal surface without sideways tilt.
  • Connection to electric power supply/water supply. Do not twist the hoses and the electrical cables. If it is possible, provide the washing machine with voltage drop protection.
  • Free top surface. The washing machine’s surface should be free, clean and dry.
  • Body cleaning. It is very easy to clean the body of your washing machine. Wipe the appliance with wet soft sponge, then wipe it with clean dry cloth once in two weeks.
  • Drain check. When you do laundry at the first time, keep your eye out for the drainpipe. The separate multi-level protection is recommended to prevent the leak.

  • To prevent the scale buildup on the heating element of your washing machine, you can use special agents for scale removal or you can set a filter for water softening on your washing machine.
  • To protect the drum and door from scratches, clothes with metal elements like rivets and zippers, should be turned inside out or you can use bags for washing.
  • To prevent the mold and odor occurrence, you should regularly clean the trash collection. It is placed at the very bottom of your washing machine and accumulates seeds, buttons, hair, coins and other things entered from the laundry into the drum. Without cleaning the trash collection, it can be clogged and the laundry will have a musty smell.
  • To avoid the mold occurrence on the rubber hatch, inside the tank and drum, open them every time after washing your laundry.

Important!

Do not overload your washing machine. The manufacturer indicates the weight of wet laundry in kg, so please follow the instructions. If the drum is completely overloaded, the motor of washing machine may burn out.
